Global Experience Institutional Partnerships

Global Experiences at Centennial College rely on our collaborations with Institutional Partners across the globe. In the 23-24 Academic year our programs were actively engaged with 29 institutions directly.

See below for more information about partnerships: What they are, How they can be used and Where you can find and access them to build exciting connections that benefit your program.

WHAT IS AN INSTITUTIONAL PARTNERSHIP?

  •    An institutional partnership is a formalized agreement between educational institutions for the purpose of engaging in specific educational activities.
  •  Our Office of Academic Partnerships manages the process of signing new agreements, ensuring that the agreements protect the College and they maintain our robust database of agreements.
  •  Activities are often initiated by Faculty and supported by the Global Experience Office.
  •  Agreements and associated activities are intended to be reciprocal and should open up options for Student and Faculty from both institutions. The more fulsome the range of activities the better the partnership.
  •  A partnership is formalized by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding or a Memorandum of Activities that outlines the nature of the permitted activities from both institutions. Only designated administrators are permitted to sign on behalf of the college.
  •  GE Partnerships are reviewed annually for quality.
  •  Agreements will hold a 5 year validity at which point they need to be renewed.
  •  Faculty can initiate the development of a new Academic Partnership if there is a desired set of activities that can be established between the 2 institutions. They need to fill out an initial request form and submit it to OAPP.

Where Can You Find Out about our Partnerships?

Centennial College has hundreds of active agreements all over the world which can be searched by any current faculty or staff member on our Partnerships Portal and leveraged for any connection they would like to make related to their academic program. In 23-24 Global experience

Centennial College maintains memberships with a number of Consortiums where our membership permits us to collaborate on activities as we have signed agreements that govern our interactions.

University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific (UMAP) is a consortium of Higher Education Institutions and partners, collaborating to increase opportunities for study abroad across the Asia Pacific region through a variety of short and long-term in-person and virtual exchange opportunities, as well as Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) experiences.

CBIE

We are also CBIE members which grants us access to Institutions across Canada to collaborate on programs but it also offers us accessibility to Grants, professional development related to Global Experiences, Student and Faculty Mobility, International institutional partnership development and International students recruitment, admissions and support. Members of CBIE benefit from being part of an inclusive community of international education professionals across the full spectrum of education in Canada.

Global Experiences also maintains memberships with COILConnect, SUNY COIL and AMPEI - PIC Americas specifically for COIL Development.
