Admissions Timeline

Application Evaluations:
Once an application is received Global Experiences staff work closely with relevant academic Centennial faculty and program coordinators to carefully evaluate your eligibility and overall suitability for a semester exchange abroad. We are looking for both academic suitability, and a level of personal experience and maturity in candidates as these programs are unsupervised by Centennial on the ground.

Interviews: usually 2-3 weeks after application submission
Selected Candidates will be invited to interviews to evaluate their candidacy and suitability for a semester exchange. This will be a team interview with at least one representative from your program of study (usually the program coordinator) and an Advisor from Global Experiences.

Admissions Decisions: usually 2-3 weeks after application submission
Successful candidates will be notified of their acceptance into the program. Often successful applicants will have to submit an online application to the partner institution as the second phase of their acceptance. This can be quite lengthy and should be started immediately.

Students then work closely with their program coordinators and/or Success Advisors to sign a Learning Agreement and develop an academic plan for return to Centennial.

Pre-Departure Orientation: usually 2-3 weeks before travel.
Successful candidates will be required to attend a mandatory pre-departure orientation session, including a series of briefings on traveling abroad, health and safety issues in the region and a cultural introduction to the destination country.

Additional Considerations:
*Note: All selected students will be required to visit a travel doctor or family doctor to obtain required vaccinations and sign a form as part of the pre-departure process.  Further details will be provided to selected candidates in the acceptance package.

**Note: The health and safety of our community is paramount and, as such, Centennial College reserves the right to change or cancel the program at any time to ensure the well-being of participants. Students are expected to take the appropriate health and safety precautions throughout the program. Centennial College will not be held responsible for losses or injuries during the program.
